FIFA DEVELOPMENT COMPENSATION BOOST FOR UGANDAN AMATEUR ACADEMY
We are proud to make another life changing contribution to the development of youth football in Uganda. Super Cubs Soccer Academy, a modest amateur academy based in Kampala, Uganda is yet another club we have helped reap the rewards of the FIFA solidarity mechanism. FC Cape Town’s management is proud to announce we have successfully assisted Super Cubs receive their full entitlement as per the FIFA statutes.Yasser Mugerwa, a development product of the Super Cubs Soccer Academy, joined African super club Orlando Pirates in August 2015 from Uganda Premier League outfit Uganda Revenue Authority FC. This international transfer meant Super Cubs, who trained and educated Mugerwa from the age of 13 to 17, were entitled to receive compensation of the transfer fee paid by the Buccaneers.
A small percentage of a transfer fee can prove to be a significant sum for an amateur academy such as Super Cubs and this will go an extremely long way to nurturing new talent! We are so proud that we could assist Super Cubs with this life changing boost to the academy.
FC Cape Town would like to thank Orlando Pirates FC, in particular Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza and Mr Darryl Joselowsky (Finance Manager), for their professional and efficient handling of the case and for fulfilling their full development compensation obligation.
Mr Errol Dicks
